3 boxes containing 74 aluminum disc recordings of Rudy Vallee radio shows from 1932-1939. Guest stars included Tallulah Bankhead, Alice Faye,Sophie Tucker, Ethel Barrymore, Dick Powell, Betty Boop, Gloria Swanson, Bob Hope, Rudolph Friml, Jr., Milton Berle, Gypsy Rose Lee, and Edgar Bergen and many others.
The collection consists of approximately 85 commercial and original arrangements used by the Hotel Van Ness Orchestra, led by Albert “Al Getchie” Glenn, as well as some miscellaneous sheet music and a photograph of the orchestra.
The collection includes two costumes created for Ella Fitzgerald for concert performances. The first, a grey silk evening gown with a black silk and velvet floral overlay, was worn by the singer on stage in the 1960s. The second, mint green silk jumpsuit heavily adorned with rhinestones, faux pearls and fringe on the sleeves and waistline, was worn by the singer on stage in the early 1970s. An inside label reads "Elizabeth Courtney/Costumes Hollywood."
Approximately 200 original arrangements created by various arrangers for the singing duo Sandler & Young, who performed internationally from 1963-1982. Most arrangements include a master score, vocal parts, and various instrument parts. The collection also includes a few news clippings.
