This is an artificial collection that is comprised of all donations of CDs and DVDs. Sound recordings include: original cast recordings of Broadway musicals and Hollywood movie musicals, including foreign language albums; albums recorded by Songbook-era performers; and albums including Songbook-era pieces sung by later performers. Video recordings include: recorded Broadway musical performances; Hollywood movie musicals; documentaries; and movies with Songbook-era music in the soundtrack.
Papers and sound recordings spanning the career of lyricist Hy Zaret (Hyman Harry Zaritsky). Includes research, notes, handwritten musical notes and lyrics on staff paper, mock-ups and drafts of sheet music, printed sheet music, orchestrations, arrangements, and folios. It includes copyright registrations, requests for use, letters of praise, scrapbooks, and correspondence. Collection also contains plaques and certificates presented to Zaret for milestones related to “Unchained Melody” and in appreciation for his work with Lou Singer on children’s educational music, and audio recordings featuring unpublished and commercial reel-to-reel tapes, 78s, LPs, and lacquers of Zaret’s songs, his Little Songs, and research-related materials.
The collection contains 7", 10", and 12" lacquer discs, various reel-to-reel tapes, miscellaneous 78s and LPs, and some sheet music belonging to lyricist Johnny Burke. Many of the lacquers are test pressings of music for which he wrote the lyrics.
The personal and business papers of Meredith Willson, author and composer of "The Music Man" and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown," along with photographs, sheet music and arrangements, sound recordings, and audiovisual recordings from his personal collection.

It also includes to a lesser extent similar materials pertaining to Georgia Gibbs and Rose Murphy.
Collection consists of drafts of Will Friedwald’s book A biographical dictionary of jazz and popular singers. Includes draft notes. A large collection of music recordings were donated along with the papers; they have since been catalogued and removed from the collection.
